Our Mission

The Downing Park Conservancy’s mission is to preserve Downing Park's rich history and natural beauty, fostering a serene environment in the heart of Newburgh. Through land stewardship, space activation, and park advocacy we work to ensure that Downing Park is a source of pride and inspiration for all residents and visitors.

Yesterday we toured Downing Park with NFA West students and members of the Orange and Dutchess County Garden Club. As part of the Root for Trees program, students learned park history and about the Olmsted & Vaux vision for public parks. #olmsted
