GreenUp! Newburgh - Tyrone Crabb Park

Event Details

Green Up Newburgh! 2026 will bring together local environmental organizations, youth programs, and residents to highlight the incredible work happening across our city. From urban forestry, community gardens, and composting to walking trails, pollinator pathways, park revitalization, and healthy outdoor activity, this event celebrates the collective efforts making Newburgh healthier and greener.

Attendees will receive a Green Up Newburgh! Stamp Card, encouraging them to visit each table and engage directly with participating organizations. Once completed, stamp cards can be entered into a raffle for a great prize sponsored by the Newburgh Waterways Center.

So, join us for a great afternoon with food, music, to fun games to celebrate a greener Newburgh and to take meaningful actions like:

  • Creating a seed bomb or pollinator-friendly craft

  • Planting, weeding or mulching at the Calvary Presbyterian Church

  • Discovery urban biodiversity and helping with a BioBlitz

  • Adding food scraps to a composting bin

  • Kids’ eco-art station (recycled materials)

  • Writing a physical letter or postcard to a local representative

  • Calling or emailing a local representative in real time

  • Youth program enrollment

  • Signing up for an upcoming volunteer opportunity

Geodesic Dome Installation with Parents in the Avant Garde

Musical Discovery Workshop(around the dome) on Sunday, June 1 at 4-6 pm.

Parents in the Avant Garde, organized by Nicole Lattuca and Matt Mottel, will present Scribble Scores, an interactive performance. The event begins with a workshop where children create colorful scribble scores on Bristol paper, which will then be interpreted live, starting at 5 PM, by parents, neighbors, and the young artists themselves in an improvisational sound performance using the artist-built geodesic dome as the display for the graphic musical scores.
